Guns Should Be Allowed To Vote, Says America’s NRA

America’s National Rifle Association (NRA) says giving the country’s 300 million firearms the right to vote in national elections is “well overdue”.

In an address to NRA faithful yesterday, the Association’s President said “Isn’t it extraordinary that in 2013 – more than 90 years after women were given the right to vote – my Smith & Wesson still has no say in national affairs”.

Tea Party favourite Sarah Palin said she supported the push for arms suffrage, noting, “I trust my semi-automatic a lot more than the Muslim who runs my local store. Yet, strangely, he gets to vote and Bubbles doesn’t. I don’t think that’s what our forefathers had in mind when they spoke of equality for all”.

NRA member Mitch Mitchell said giving guns the vote was a fundamental right that shouldn’t be trivialised. “When you read the constitution, and interpret it loosely to suit your purposes, I think it’s pretty clear that guns have the same rights as any other American,” he said. “To say otherwise is simply racist”.
